TBH Llew, I thought the trailer ones were confusing, as there used to be differing limits for single and twin axle trailers (twin axles used to be able to do 70mph on the motorway) .
Yes, that may have thrown a few. Especially if, like myself, you haven't used trailers, and wouldn't normally be aware of the limits.

First car I drove as a learner, was my Dad's Singer Gazelle (7216 TE)
First time I drove was in a GPO Telephones company car - my Dad's, with me perched in front of him - when I was 12 years old. Off road naturally, on a then undeveloped unmade road in what was then a very new Harlow New Town, where my Dad was supervising telephone cable laying.

. Yes those questions were my demise as well

First car I drove as a learner, was my Dad's Singer Gazelle (7216 TE), I was terrified in case I scratched it..

OMG, that is a blast from the past, we went on a camping trip to Barrynarbor in 1972 in a Singer Gazelle Estate and my car an escort, I was following them in Wales and noticed a lot of smoke from the exhaust, we kept going but it turned out that it was caused by the petrol pump diaphram leaking and pumping petrol direct into the sump, and yes you guessed it by the time we got to the campsite the short motor was goosed. So we all had to club together for a new petrol pump and put a short motor and then change it in the middle of a field.. big Frank squatted on the wings with a rope around his shoulder and lifted it out to us five waiting at the side what a laugh that was.......ho hum happy days and happy memories
