Sorry to hear the news today, like many people of my age Lonnie was a landmark character in our youth, with great songs like "Rock Island Line", "My Old Man's a Dustman" and "Does Your Chewing Gum lose It's Flavour(on the bedpost over night)" he was the king of the Skiffle scene.

Other songs were, "Putting on The Style", "Pick a Bale of Cotton" and "The Battle of New Orleans"

Thanks for the link Rolf. I saw the sad news earlier on Ceefax. Like all quality singers (whether or not you liked the genre) Lonnie's voice was instantly recognisable. He seemed to be a really nice guy.
