Wife's cousin tried to have a dish installed for hotbird, only to find out that the installers that showed up had no idea what a diseqc was... i told him to kick them out :)

He wants to pickup 13E and 19.2E with an aditional dish, he already has a sky dish.

I'm guessing a 1m with a monoblock would suffice, but i'm sure theres a lot more other options.

Are there any decent shops or chaps around that area that anyone can reccomend?

thanks!

For Hotbird and astra 19.2 in Essex, a Triax TD64 (60cm dish) and a 4.3 degree monoblock will work well, the 4.3 degree monobloc LNB is equivalent to a 6 degree on the 60cm dish.

Whereabouts in Essex? I know of a couple of good installers for domestic kit, one in Stansted and one in Canvey Island.

Edit. Amended. Thanks Tivu. :)

He's at:

South Woodham Ferrers
Chelmsford
Essex
CM3 5WX

Since the price between the 60 and 80 is practically peanuts, it would be nice to go bigger anyway :)

Yes, certainly nice to have the extra signal as a buffer against heavy rain, but many customers I have found, prefer the smaller dish, particularly the female ones. :)

Go to this site, www.fixmyaerial.com all installers on there come personally recommended, you have Alan, SDS at Stansted and Trevor, Trevange at Canvey Island, or Mark, MBC at Gravesend, although at 35 miles MBC are probably a little too far away.
