Looking for Hot Bird 6/7A/8 in East Africa

Hi guys,
I'm in Dar es salaam(Lat 6 39"S Long 39 36"E) Tanzania, I 've just installed a motorized 7Ft dish and am using a box which I can find any information about it its a BEAUSAT IRCI-5400z, Its a having a C band LNB and am able to get only a few channels (Intelsat 902, intelsat 904, NSS 7, )
If i fix a Ku band LNB would i be able to get Hot Bird 6/7A/8 ? and I think the box needs some updates can someone tell me where I can download the updates for this box.

You are well out of footprint for any of the hotbirds, and as such its unlikely you will be successful. However, information from your area is scant at best, so go ahead and try it.

At the end of the day all you have to lose is a few hours of your timeand a few dollars for a Ku band lnb / feedhorn

And please let us know one way or the other as we will all learn something new whatever happens.

I'm planning to spend those hours this Saturday and I have already got a Ku band LNB.you will definately hear my experience.
My worry is the box I have the number IRCI-5400z resembles a Humax product but this is Beausat's and i cant find it online, I was recommended Technomate box but I have not been able to buy it in this area.

Id recommend you dont flash anything until after you have played with the dish - its one less variable to think about if things dont work!

in Sudan Khartoum I got 70% of all Hotbird transponders with 2.9 meter solid (hunter) dish. I hardly recommend you to try it in Tanzania

I have installed 3 LNBs on my 8 Ft Dish and I had to get rid of that receiver as I could not get any updates for it. Now I can receive a list of satellites (Intelsat 902, intelsat 906, NSS 7,Atlantic Bird 3,Express A3,Intelsat 10-02,Intelsat 7,Intelsat 10, Badr 6, Thaicom 5 ) I'm sure i can get more but I'm so tired to look for more. I have learned Ku band beams for this side are very few and the area I live there is a lot of interference on C band any ideas how i can reduce the interference ?

Hi, I am living in Dar Es Salaam i need any possible updated information on Hot-bird Channels available on C or KU band in Tanzania.

I know we have Thai Com 2-5 which can only show one Russian English channel RT ( Russia Today ) but i need more channels which could be on HOT-BIRD

Well we know PeterX4 couldnt get Hotbird on an 8 foot dish so you are going to need something much bigger to stand any chance.

Hotbird satelites any news. Ilive in jigjiga, ethiopia N 09“20“28.9 E042^47"17.9 Can I receive hotbird13E? or Astra 28E. My problem is that all my equipment r cheap china made but I do it the hard way searching all my free times. What I can receive here is. 105.5E/100.5E/91.5E/3 to 4 satelites/78.5E/76.5E/75E/68.5E/64E/57E NSS/49E/42E/40E ku-band but not any more/39E/36E/26E/7E/7W/5W/ and another 5 to 6 satelite from the west direction. Plz what iam so interested is how to get hotbird or Eurobird.? any help for how to set up manually 2 or 3 lnb's in single dish is abbreciated
