Very probably - its the time of the year when the sun passes behind the satellites and knocks out the transmissions for a few minutes.

devonbrown,

here in barcelona with my 1'10mt dish, FTE 0'6db LNB... in three Skydigibox (PACE2600C1, PACE DS430N & PANASONIC DB30) and one MvisionE+9080NET last week from (Monday to Sunday) I lost for a few minutes (maybe 5 or 10 minutes) at 11am GMT+1 (10am UK Time) many channels inc. BBCs, ITVs and others... and 11:10am ~ 11:15am ALL work OK. !?

today and yesterday work OK at same hour, because I have ITV3 all morning without signal loss.

greetings!

Thanks for your replies. I found it interesting because it occurred on the hour. It happened again today at exactly 11 am local time for 4 mins. interesting

Sun outage will continue for a few more days, depending on where you are.
2D is lost completely for about 5 mins in Spain, north beams of 2A and B also affected to a lesser extent.
2D is also going into eclipse at night, that is why reception is currently so strong at 11-30 pm round here. I guess it's running on batteries.
I worked this out the other day after watching the beautiful lunar ecplise. I remembered from studying astronomy that a lunar eclipse is often followed by an eclipse of the sun two weeks later, as the earth sun and moon are in a straight line. The same happens with satellites at this time of year.

I frequently notice a freeze in the image on any sky channel during the evenings, exactly on the hour. I'm not sure what Sky is doing at that moment, but it sure has some inpact on my reception !

Most likely local interference. It could be your neighbour with a radar detector in the car, or a garage door opener. Does he or she arrive punctually?
