I am in Africa and wanted to know, from the lyngsat page above, does the EIRP correspond to the minimum size of the dish one has to have in order to see channels beamed by the satellite depending on ones location?

Say, one leaving under EIRP 35 needs to have a minumum dish size
of 140-180 cm to see channels from ABS1?

Yes in general that is correct however in reality there are differences between the theoretical footprint and reality
