The French Grand Prix is to stay at Magny-Cours for the next two seasons, unless an alternative venue is found nearer Paris. The location for the 2008 and 2009 races will be confirmed in September.
Last Friday, the French motorsport federation, the FFSA, said it was determined to stage a race next year, despite having previously suspended the inscription of the race on the 2008 calendar.
