Iraqi orphan Ali Ismaeel Abbas has received a gift from his heroes at Manchester United.

He lost both his arms after his house was destroyed by a stray missile.

The 12-year-old is being treated in a Kuwaiti hospital and has undergone life-saving operations.

Sixteen members of his family were killed in the Allied raid.

Last week, United stars signed a team shirt for Ali after hearing that he was a fan.

The shirt was handed over to the Saud A Albabtain Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery in Kuwait City.

Ali is reported to be "delighted" with the shirt and was shown David Beckham's signature, but was particularly interested in Fabian Barthez.

Ali's plight and his horrific injuries have touched millions of people around the world. Thousands of pounds have been raised by appeals to pay for his care.

Ali is expected to be out of his bed in two weeks and out of the burns and intensive care unit in three weeks.
