Mary Tamm, probably best known for her single series appearance as Romana(I) in Doctor Who, has died aged 62. She had been suffering from cancer for the last 18 months.

She had a very striking appearance, probably as a result of her Baltic ancestry, and made a strong impression on this young man!

RIP Mary.

I've just noticed (how could it have passed me by?) that another Doctor Who companion Caroline John, who played Liz Shaw opposite the Jon Pertwee's third Doctor, has recently died.

RIP Caroline.
