Bought dish which is pretty much brand new, only been out of the box to assemble and test, then repackaged from forum member some years ago, will dig out of garage and take pictures, but not today.

Clearing space in garage, so I'm sure other legacy kit will surface as well. :)

Motor and mount are used and worked when bought, tested by member, have been sat in box for all this time.

Looking for £120 plus shipping.fibo_1.jpg

Willtry and get some this weekend, have to un-bury the box and get the dish out, as after the single assembly a few years back, I repacked it.

Are you in need of more dishes / motors ?
Not sure yet as I was getting a large dish for C band but a neighbour is none to happy and I would get no signals if its hidden away down the garden. looks like its a no go there. So maybe another dish for the Overseer so she has no impact on my setup and I have another project..

If you haven't put it up yet how can the neighbour be 'unhappy'?

Unhappy because knowing my neighbour from a boundary dispute, a planning dispute, where she objected to everything possible I spoke to planning and I do not require any permission if my adjacent neighbours have no objections and the dish is at ground level. I enquired and was told it would be an eyesore but OK if hidden down the garden amongst the trees.
But I may just carry on and let planning decide, it would take ages.

Any dispute with the neighbours is not good news

Planning is going to ruin everything if you are contemplating a reasonable C band sized dish.

Reasonable? My garden goes down into 3 levels with trees at the bottom, hence my Fibo is on a flat roof, 20ft above the patio and it just about clears for 52 east. I can get away with a 1.8 to 2.3 on the top garden and the neighbours will hardly see it. Did a Dishpointer but now trying with my tablet sat finder to see what I can get. Probably mostly west.

Mount it on a mobile platform suck as a pallet on castors or a on a railway track. If you search the forum there are a couple of topics covering this type of install. One of them (blademedia topic) is very well documented with some good photos. As soon the install has mobility there is nowt the neighbour can do except swear to themselves that you have stuck it right up them.

Waiting for the pics.

Image from when I assembled it back in 2008 added to original post, didn't have time to take it out of the box, it's now in my little storage locker. there is miniml scuffing on the outside of the secondary reflector. Motor is as was sent by Turok (I think) back in 2007.

Well, good luck, I suppose.
Here's a chance for someone to get a nice dual-reflector setup.
Or even a sub-reflector to start experimenting with on the big dishes...
Too far for me - but there's bound to be someone in the UK.

I already have a Fibo 90 but fitting the sub reflector on a bigger dish is a good idea. Would need to know how much bigger dish and exact measurements to get the angles correct. Not for the faint hearted.

True, but luckily some members(esp. @RimaNTSS ) has done this several times. I'm sure he'll be helpful with advice and discussion of results.
(I also remember some members saying that the secondary reflector needs to be tuned to the specific primary reflector to provide any gain - so your mileage may vary...)

The design of the secondary reflector would be a complex affair to provide compatibility with a dish that is not built to work with one.

If bigger dish (green curve, excuse my bad drawing) has more or less same opening angle as original Fibo, for example 85*, then it will be more or less perfect match. BTW, all Channel Master dishes have opening angle of 80*, which is not so far from what is needed.
That is all IMHO, but I am ready to argue :)

Thanks for posting the pic.
Extremely illustrative of the gregorian principle - really consolidated my understanding of how the dual optics work.
Only niggle would be that I think you've got the green paraboloid section upside down...?

I knew it from the very beginning and apologized for that, but my drawing program did not let me do it right (so, blame MS Visio) :D
