This meens that the coax from LNB to VBOX loss 30% of signal. )(-red
How long are you cable? what Quality are you use??????

And insert loss of VBOX are 12% of signal. to reduce that make a tuner insite coil and Capicitor proberly SWR are bad.

So you see to have it optimal its more than simple.

That does sound like a huge loss, what frequency were you testing?

Well the loss at 1.663 Ghz the If frequency for 12,263 Ghz should be around 25db over 100 metres, so 20 metres should only see a loss of around 5db, are you sure that the first reading is correct?

As long as you maintain a good SNR (signal to noise ratio) and stay above the signal strength threshold of the receiver, you should be fine.

cheers rolfw will double check, i tried it in the spare output on the lnb as its a quad invacom but this output should have less output than the one my receiver is plugged into anyway,is it worth getting some more cable and trying it, if so what would you recommend, also what does the 9db mean thanks,
ps im not having trouble receiving much its just that i bought a meter and decided to check the levels .last question what about the drop through the vbox,is this normal cheers

Yes, you will lose some signal through the V-Box, there is a thread somewhere of a mod you can make to reduce this. Th 9db is the amount of signal above the ambient noise, 9db should be more than adequate.

Try the measurement again before changing the cable.
