HI

I bought a dual [2] LNB with disceq facility.
I can get the Astra 19.2 satellite. The settings show

LNB TYPE: TYPE 1
LNB FREQ: UNIVERSAL
LNB FREQ: UNIVERSAL
DISCEQC: MINI DESC
DISCEQC PORT: 1

This works fine for Astra and I get a really strong signal level and
quality [90%].

I then tried to set up Hotbird by doing the following

1 - program satellites
1 - satellite - selecting Hotbird

these are the setting that show up

Satellite: 013.0E HOTBIRD
LNB TYPE: TYPE 2
TP/POLAR: 12520/V
etc..

The signal strength is 10% level
and 10% quality.

What is the problem?

Why can't I get Hotbird?

What side is in the clamp ASTRA OR HOTBIRD?

My dish is like his

[O] THIS LNB SIDE IS IN THE CLAMP
THE CABLE RUNS IN THE MIDDLE OF LNB
O THIS LNB SIDE IS NOT IN THE CLAMP

My Satellite Setup
Technomate 5402 HD M2 Ci, DM7000s, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Promax HD Ranger+ spectrum analyser.

On most DiseqC LNBs port number one is the western LNB, so should be lined up on 13E, then port 2 or B should be set up for Astra 19.2.

Both LNBs should be set as Universal, Low band LO 9750 High band LO 10600.

Many thanks for you reply,

since I am a newbie, does that mean the side in the clamp is ASTRA 19.2?

If the below diagram is my satellite

(0) is this Astra in the clamp?
-------------------------
O is this Hotbird?

could it mean that I need swop the clamp side to thisa way round?

I actually solved the monoblock problem for my receiver.

I used a sat finder device to set the dish, and discovered that the lnb in the clamp was hotbird (a) and the other was Astra (. As I am using a disqec 2.0, I had to set the option to mini disqec on the Echostar 2110 2CI Viaccess receiver.

That solved the problem.

Got brill reception on both hotbird and astra!

:)
