Monoblock mysteries

Hi:
I`m posting this message as a newcomer and complete novice in the hope that some kind soul will point me in the right direction.
I currenly receive signals from Astra via a HUMAX IRCI - 5400Z receiver ( SKY is through cable) - living in East Yorkshire.
I recently purchased and fitted a Brainwave Monoblock LNB in the hope of widening my satellite reception - perhaps not a brainwave !!
Despite many,many attempts I appear unable to switch to pick up any Hotbird signals but the Astra channels are perfect.
Any ideas - is the equipment compatible?will the cable be the problem( pre digital)
Any help would be gratefully accepted.

OK, just looked at a picture of the LNB, as a rule the side of the LNB mounted in the LNB clamp should be the Hotbird side and the dish should be pointed at Hotbird, hence why you are having problems. Looking at the dish from behind the LNB, the right hand side should be in the clamp, swing the dish around to Hotbird, a tad higher in elevation and Hotbird will be on DiseqC A with Astra on DiseqC B.

Many thanks for that rolfw - Iwas hoping that I wouldn`t have to start moving the dish but I will look upon it as a challenge!!!
