Hi,

got my DB 7000 setup - but I'm having some probs with my monoblock.

it seems to work(ish) with it set to switch by Toneburst rather than Diseqc which is what I used on my old Fortec Ultra.

However - I seem to get few channels on 19deg - far fewer than I had on my Ultra. However, they all seem rock solid - whereas I had some dropouts on my Ultra.

Is this down to my toneburst/diseqc setup - or is the DB less tolerant of weaker signals?

Early versions of the 7000 did have reported 'weak' tuners.

Don't know if you have one of these.

It's not the most sensitive tuner in the receiver world, even on the latest models (of which yours is one) but you should get all of 19.2E and 13E, depending on where exactly you are. Perhaps you need your windows cleaning?!?!?! :p

What dish do you have? Which monoblock? (sorry, too lazy to go check your old posts!)

yeah - I need to get the dish out.... - that might be a xmas project.... :)

Metronic 85cm clear dish with a 'BigSat' 0.3 Mono (£20 off ebay!)

I was suprised I couldnt get it to switch with Diseqc - & I had to use Toneburst to get anything from the 2nd LNB - do you think thats correct?

BTW - I'm using a current sat.xml

Still getting me TPS's etc so I'm happy..... although sometimes I get an error that there is no signal - then the channel pops up....

Just looked at the spec and it is DiseqC 1, so you should be able to use the DiseqC commands for a 2 or 4 way switch.

Using DiSEqC on my DreamBox (Orange display) and it works OK.

Have you checked all the DiSEqC switching/motor options just in case you have another more suitable option?

They say the tuner is weaker than others but I don't seem to have a problem.

The latest box 500 series has a new tuner and the new DBs have two installed!
