Would anyone here recommend a Motec SG2100 motor for a 1m dish? I heard its dead easy to install, I have a fixed dish at the moment but am toying with the idea of motorising to get more from my little ol Silvercrest SL65, I might even get the Echostar out of the cupboard under the stairs where I stashed it in disgust as I could not understand how the programming worked. Mind you-I am not much better off with this receiver, it still has me stumped.
I did a scan recently and ended up with something called New Satelite of which I am highly suspicious, think it might be Hotbird masquerading under another name! Here are the various bits of info, hope they make sense to someone.

LNB Freq 9750 10600
Trans Freq 11429
Symbol rate 27491

Then I have Hotbird 13E which gives me (according to the receiver)

LNB 9750 1060
Trans Freq 11582
symbol rate 27492

There also seems to be a Sirius 5.0E

LNB 9750 1060
Trans freq 11728

Help!!

Viewsat Ultra, Stab MP 02 DiSEqC 1.0 to 1.2 code convertor for Stab HH 120 motor drive, Winegard 1 meter dish with an Invacom quad LNB

The SG 2100 motor or the Stab HH 100 or Stab HH 120 motors will all handle your 1 meter dish. Before you decide, you may want to check what DiSEqC code your receiver is transmitting as there are different code versions called communication Protocol version 1.0 1.1 1.2 and I believe a 1.3 Many receivers use 1.0 which is fine for the LNB but for motor drives many require 1.2 to operate correctly. The Stab MP 02 is an inline convertor which will take the 1.0 code from a receiver and change it to 1.2 code then send it to the motor drive. This is very important as your receiver has to send the correct code to the motor or you will develop problems with the motor drive.
This switch is easy to find using a Google search for Stab MP 02 and it is very easy to install so be informed before installing or using a motor drive with any receiver.

Triple Dragon, Dreambox 8000, Echostar AD3000ip, TBS6522,6925,6983 PCie cards.
Gibertini 1.25m motorised dish driven by the AD3000, with either Inverto BU Quad or Norsat / XMW Ka LNBs . SMW 1.05m + 3 other dishes. Speccy: Promax HD Ranger+

The receiver concerned is well equipped to use the necessary Diseqc protocols to drive a motorised dish, so no external switch is needed.

Yes and in fact, very few current receivers do not have DiseqC 1.2.
