Dear all,
First of all, I hope you are keeping well and safe. It's been quite a while since I came here for help.
Anyway, recently my motor dish is playing a bit as on day I moved to one of my satellites ( Astra 19.2 E) from( Hotbird 13.0 E) automatically and when I tried to move back on another day the motor didn't move to the satellite I wanted, instead went out of West limits and ever since I only can move manually.
I did what the manual said. Turn power, press and hold the East/West at the same time, turn on the power the light flashing , continue to push until the led stops flashing. Memory is erased. Motor is reset.
Nevertheless, from my receiver the motor still not moving. Not single mm.
What should I do next? Reset my receiver ( factory one ) and start again?
Many thanks

Loquacious,
I would check the dish is still facing South after the recent high winds. Turn the dish zero manually and check it is pointing South.

@Loquacious :
And then do the motor reset, as you described. Because usually during the motor reset not only memory is reset to default (not necessarily erased!), but also present motor position is set as motor zero.
(No idea at what motor position you did the previous motor reset....)

Then after the motor reset, check if your motor runs on GoLeft and GoRight commands from your receiver, and returns to zero at a Goto0 or GotoReference command.
If it does, then the new position data must be stored via your receiver.
If it doesn't, other analyzing should be done.

80cm Motorised.
Several small Dishes.
Much else.

I had this problem once: It was caused by a less than perfect connection at the motor end of the cable from the receiver.
Not loose enough to fully prevent current flow, and the LNB still worked as did the motor manual buttons. But USALS control was goosed.

Thanks for your advice. What striking me is that I manually put to 19.2 and 13.E ( both have a mark in the motor as a precaution that one day the motor goes bust ) and both satellites got full signals and good viewing, obviously I won't be going up all the time I want to watch German TV and so on.
However, I will check it again tomorrow.
I will update you.
Cheers,

Hello Lazarus, yes I have to have a look on it again as sometime ago the cable wasn't connect properly and I fixed it and worked perfectly agin afterwords. So this time is quite different as as I said, the motor moved and went to a 19.2 and didn't come back to Hotbird when I wanted to and after that I tried so many times to reset manually but only to work manually... Tomorrow I will check properly the cable up to motor and receiver...
Have a good evening, cheers

And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

How old is the receiver?? It could be a power supply problem at the receiver, if the DC voltage is too low to turn the motor it wont move to good.

If the receiver is over 3 years old (or more) it may have some dried up electrolytic caps in the internal power supply feeding the motor, when locked to a satellite do you have any problems changing between horizontal and vertical transponders?? (Vertical (13v) to Horizontal (18v))

And you mentioned you had a problem with a loose connection at the motor, it could be a problem with a corroded connection at the input side of the motor.

If all else fails - someone on here recently had a dicky DiSEqC motor that had moved itself to either the east or west limit (can't remember which). It was fixed my moving the hardware limits to as far round as they could go.

Maybe the same as my neighbour 5 doors away I went too a while back. His dish is 2metres off the ground so easy to fix. He had taped the lnb connection with electrical tape, said he had never heard of amalgamating tape. Corroded but fine after a clean with switch cleaner and re taped. The easiest £10 ever.

Good afternoon and happy new 2021 to everyone...
I finally got the motor running again from my receiver but only if I press command to go to satellite and goes out of the band( totally west or east ).
By the way, the problem was from the cable( Lazarus and TJ EXcalibur you both were right! I applied both suggestions) now the motor runs from my receiver but not all functions are working ... Something is not right.
Anything you guys can suggest as I'm going to reset again manually and try one more time?
Hope you guys are safe and sound...
Many Thanks:-applause
