I'm trying to get beyond 60degrees east on my Technomate 1000CI box and Motek SG2100A, but either the box or the motor ain't having it!

What am I doing wrong?

I thought they were designed to go no further than that as you are unlikely to get sats beyond that as at 60 degrees the satellite will be at an elevation of about 2 degrees which you will not see unless you are in an East coastal region with no hills and obstructions

The motor has adjustable hardware and software limits and has the potential to travel 75 degrees East and West. In real terms though and as Topper says, there is not much in the way of viewing past the 60 degree point and for most that will be below the skyline.

That's right.
I have a SG2100 hooked onto a Topfield 5000ci and with Usals the motor stops at 60 degrees.
With Diseqc 1.2, though, you are able to drive the motor to the hardware-limits.
With my Manhattan Starlight, I can drive the motor all the way to the hardware-limits using Usals.
So it seems that newer receivers have this 60 degrees Usals-limit.
