My Satellite Setup
1.1M Triax motorised dish with tm5402, spiderbox and azbox recievers
My Location

I have had a 1.2m channel master motorised system installed, and the performance is very good across most satellites compared to the 1.1m motorised system I had at my old house.

Unfortunately, there is one satellite weaker than what I had at home - 10E. Even more unfortunately, for someone who is into feeds (the main reason I got this system), 10E is one of the most important satellites for feeds.

7E is about equal to what I got at my old place. The rest are slightly stronger around the middle at my new place, while on the corners (30W, 24.5W, 42E, 26E) they are much stronger at my new place.

Just wondering if it is worth redoing the installation to get a better signal on 10E, or whether it is some kind of interference from another source (mobile phone tower? Terrestrial transmitter? 4G?) which is causing me to lose signal on 10E (and maybe also 7E).

Could you let me know what signal you have on the following TPs on 10E:

Beladi TV 12738H sr: 2604 (for me, 84% on my Manhattan at my old place, dropping to 73% Manhattan at new place, 76% on Technomate at new place)
MGM EU 12611H sr:9259 (for me 90% Manhattan old place, dropping to 80% on Manhattan at new place, 82% technomate at new place)

And you? It would help if you also post your approximate location/region, receiver and dish setup.

Unfortunately I can't get a lock on many feeds at 10E which I was getting at my old place :-(

Many thanks

You are asking far too much of the forum members, much like the lottery where one answer out of millions (ok hundreds) might be the right one.

Which part of London ?

Post a couple of images of the system (from behind to show the horizon the dish is looking at ) and from the front(to show the parts making up the system), so that others can verify whether a funadmental fault exists

hi -
signal results from the 2 transponders in the pictures below --

using 1.2 channel master motorised -- into Skybox M3 receiver,
in north west yorkshire
these are both good strong signals from this setup - anything above 35% quality
gives a watchable picture - on this receiver

regards --

Sticking in my twopen'nth in regards to both of your new set ups: I think their plumbness wants rechecking and adjusting and then the motor and dish. I've found the hard way that when dealing with larger dishes set up with motors that a spirit level may not be enough. I invested in a cheap digital angle finder, used this on the pole and motor housing and though they were only out by .3° or so (I.E. 89.7°), adjusting for plumb did make a difference. Especially important when dealing with fringe reception like feeds.

I agree, if every last microvolt is needed then a spirit level isn't good enough. I string my pole as it's convenient to leave it in all the time but if it wasn't then I'd definitely invest in a digital angle finder.

Before you reinstall everything or suspect external interference (which is highly unlikely TBH) have you tried swapping the LNB? How does 1W or 3E compare to old set up?

I am getting about the same signal on 1w as I did with my previous 1.1m setup. e.g. Speranta TV (12562V 27500) 93% (used to get 92), Discovery (S) (11229 H 24500) 88% (used to get 86). Similar story on 5E, 7E - about the same, some slightly stronger, some slightly weaker.

10E is the really weak one.

MASSIVE signal on Turksat 42E (95% on TRT, 98% on some TPs) - never really tried this one at previous place. Also stronger signal from 5W, 12.5w and much stronger from 15w all the way over to 30W.

Am posting some pictures of the setup, with the dish pointed at 10E. The LNB is Inverto Black Premium Quad 40mm.

The pole was level with the spirit level all around - haven't yet checked with a digital angle thingy

Yes the 2 Turksats do put out ahuge siognal - I have no problems at all getting 90% of the European stuff with an old zone 2 60cm ex Sky dish, despite the fact the lnb skew is miles off.

Here sadly I have the same issue, however, it's more 10e's footprint doesn't touch my area. On the Beladi TP I get 61% on the Skybox F5 (compared to above which has 70ish). Try scanning in a feed during primetime and see what reception is like then. 10e is a fidgety bastard and power fluxates

There is not enough concrete under the dish. One strong gust and the whole lot will shift on the roof, or come down.

Try using one of the LNBs with the longer neck, that way you can get the right illumination without using the correct feedhorn for the Channel Master design.

Please could you elaborate on "The correct feedhorn for the Channel Master design" - how does it compare to what I have currently?

The LNB you are currently using on the Triax dish will allow you to do a comparison if you swop them over.

A dedicated Channel Master feed would be the ideal option, but you would have to change the LNB for a C120 version.

Your most urgent requirement is to add more ballast under the dish though as that could kill somebody if it comes off the roof.

As said above i would have a much larger slab of concrete bolted to that stand, especially up so high.
I have a motorized 1.2 channel master also with a cm feedhorn and inverto c120 lnb, I tryed other lnbs including the black ultra, but the cm feedhorn and inverto c120 is way better than anything i tryed on my channel master.
