Is it worth it to buy a motor for a 60cm dish? My parents wont let me have a bigger one.

Yes, you'll still pick up quite a bit. 42E, 39E, Astra 28.2, Astra 19.2, 16E (some of it), Hotbird 13E, some of 5E, 1W, 5W, 30W and a few bits and pieces in between. :)

i'll see how good i am at persuading them lol, i've still got to remember about the trees though, although funnily enough i still manage to get most astra 1 channels on my 60cm through the trees with 65-70% quality.

It must be missing the trees, you cannot receive digital transmissions through pretty much any obstruction.

you could get the motor and a transparent 80cm dish as they probably wouldn't notice it

Maybe not 20cms, but I think women are programmed to notice an 'extra' 20cms.

Ive got a transparent dish, they look ok, its not the dish thats the problem its the ott scaffold pole and t&k brackets that i have on the front of my house. Easiest way to get a straight pole!

Do cost a fair bit more though and arent on ebay.

Hi Martz, If you do get a motor don't get a Stab motor because I'm reasonable sure that Stab motors and Technomate receiver's COULD have a compatibility problem.
I am having major problems with my set up (Technomate TM1000D & Stab HH120) so for the moment leave Stab's alone.

I believe that Stab designed the USALS system, but have to say that their motors seem to be more particular about which receivers they work with. I prefer the Moteck by a long way.

Couldn't agree more Rolf, as I've had nothing but problems since I got a Stab motor three months ago, worse thing I've every bought.
Thought I was buying a bit of quality, something that would last and I've had nothing but problems with it, or I should say nothing but trouble with a Technomate/Stab combination.
Have written to Technomate about this compatabilty problem, will let you know what they say.

Rolf can you think of any other receiver's that don't fancy being driven by the Stab motor.

Got a e-mail back from Technomate today stating that Technomate receiver's are made in Italy by STAB, just can't believe it. (This information is incorrect, Stab do not make Technomate receivers)
Stab also make Manhattan motors.

Taking my receiver and motor to Technomate at London on Saturday morning for testing, but I must admit this is really pissing me off big time.

The Stab doesn't seem to like some of the Dreambox images, Ned Kelly and PLi Diamond for example.

Seems I was right as I have just received another e-mail from Technomate stating that although Stab make Technomate motors as well as Manhattan's, they DO NOT make Technomate receiver's.

The horrible thought has just crossed my mind that if I got a Technomate motor to go with my Technomate receiver I could still have a software compatibility problem. :-doh!

Stab is shit, when you mention it now all Diseqc motors are shit.

Heard the latest from Stab? the nudge is normal, its normal to have 0.1 degree nudge, WTF??

And they say they make the Ferrari of motors at Stab, thats what they said in the interview from Cabsat on DrDish TV last week.

Ok, a Diseqc motor might be good for a small dish like 70cm.

I re-installed my dish last week and i had to try the Stab HH120 I bought, it was a complete nightmare, now i got the Moteck which doesn't slack a bit.

I will change to a Jaeger SMR1224 soon, i really don't care about my neighbors complaining or not about the noise it will make
