Moving a dish to pick up Hotbird

I'm picking up Sky at the moment and I would like to moving my dish to pick up hotbird 13e.

How do I do this ? Is there special equipment involved?

Remember that the instant you move the dish, your Sky reception goes out the window. Permanently if you cant get the dish aligned accurately again! :D

If you want a go, tune the receiver into a known 13e Tp. Move the dish southwards and raise the lnb slightly until you get a signal. It might take a few goes..

Mark the dish before you start just in case you get hopelessly lost.

You maight be better off getting a cheapish second dish to play with to be honest.

a good trick is to put your eye behind the arm which holds the LNB and look down it as it was a barrel of a gun and you are taking aim ... you should be able to line up with a tree, an neighbours aerial, etc ... this is your point of reference when you want to get Sky back again ... write down the elevation angle too.
