How much should i pay for installation on a multi lnb set up? I am trying to get 19.2e 13.e 15.8e and 23.5e, I have a 1m dish and all the fittings.
I have a dish motor as well but the prices i was getting quoted to set that up were crazy.

I thought £180 and £220 was a bit steep

Several varying factors; how far an installer has to travel, time spent setting up / aligning, time spent configuring receiver etc etc.

Alignment meters, diesel, PL insurance all add to the costings.

One salient point: A multi-LNB set up like the one you want will probably be more time consuming than a straightforward H-H motor installation.

I'm sure the Pro Installers here will not demur.

100% totally agree i often tell people to price up what it would cost to hire for a day to do the Job example Van hire to transport tools & Ladders, again PL insurance, Meters Etc i can probably guess there wont be much change out of a couple of hundred pounds if not more

Also depends on how much of the install needs doing, i.e. does the wallbracket need fitting, cable routing into tv, or are these things already done, all saves time and money.
Multi lnb set ups can be vey quick, your selection of satelltes are fairly strong and quick to align.

I don´t wish to loose someone a job, but why not buy a meter and do it yourself. Self satisfaction and all that.

Well the alignment is not too difficult, but as indicated above, an installer's overheads need to be factored in, I assume you can configure the reciver yourself, that is set it up for diseqc 1.0 and four position switch, and scan each satellite and assign each switch input.
Again not difficult but time cosuming.

Yes it would.

The satellites you originally wanted isn't too tricky either for someone you knew what they were doing, and if you had the correct parts ( could be a big IF). And that knowledge is what you'd be paying for, plus the diesel, and contribution to their overheads. Personally I don't think that the price is crazy, but not cheap either.

As for DIY, the monoblock option is an easy DIY job, that's one of the attractions of a monoblock. If you go for that, try doing it yourself. I assume that you know about dishpointer.

The installer has to make a living, if you think £180 is too much do the work yourself then but don't complain about it being expensive.
