Very nice too, Tonito. Looks like you have a good aspect to swing your dish.

Hi, here's a little update on my living room setup and my dad's 1983 stereo system, it still rocks! And I just LOVE its sound! They don't make 'em like they used to... :D

How much of today's thrown-together tin boxes will last as long as that equipment?

:D Never had to be repaired though it's used quite regularly, but there may be some oxidation on the switches as they sometimes make static noises and sometimes cut off the sound, I have to flick them a few times to work again. I am thinking in opening the amp up and spraying the switches and knobs with wd-40 or something...

Use one of the dedicated switch cleaner sprays, they sell them at Maplin online, or any of the European electronics stores. :)

Hey Tonito! Cool setup. I've got my dad's Telefunken turntable still working but I have to use a 220v to 120v transformer with it. Still sounds great!

Thank you! :) Yeah this stereo system also has a 220V/110V transformer as it came from canada just as well, actually I had a little problem on the 60Hz to 50Hz issue on the turntable, records were playing too slow and the pitch knob wasn't working well (oxidation) It really got my nerves so I turned the knob back and forth very fast about 100 times and now it works perfect, nice and steady speed ;). I don't think these models was ever sold here in portugal, just like my dad's mid 80's cd player, (Black thing on top). In mid 80's no one in portugal even knew what a cd was, I'd say more like mid to late 90's when they found out. LOL!!!

Thanks. Well I guess it could be a bit shorter but I didn't want to risk the cable of stretching out on the further ends of the arc. I'm thinking in buying a quad lnb to replace it so I can have a receiver on the living room, on my bedroom and the kitchen and still have an output to spare. Maybe then I'll shorten the cable a bit.

By the the way it reminds me, can anyone tell me if it's possible to control a motor with 2 receivers? What I mean is, for instance, if I wanted to move the dish to ASTRA 2 on my bedroom, and then later on the living room I wish to see hotbird can I change it from there or do I really have to go to my bedroom to move it to hotbird first? Sorry I hope you understood what I meant. :p
