Hi Yeshi,
Better stock up on the 3In1 oil I reckon you will need about 5 Gallons to move from 28E to 30W.:D:D:D

His dealer was misinformed so he recommended this size for Sky.

I was just wondering...............;) I have already searched the forum but can't seem to find the answer so I will ask again. Would this dish be suitable to receive Hispasat in the north of england, and if so is it wall mountable?

if you could have a dish that size for satellite TV, what LNB would you use? Surly you cant pop a Teléves LNB on the end and expect it to survive the sheer signal strengh?

Not sure. Try looking in the 'Technical' section on Sky.com - or better still give them a ring.:-rofl2

lmao you guys, im going to visit the dish in summer.. there is a few on that site but that was the only one i could get on the picture.. that dish sends signals out into clear space and waits for a reply back.. aparently they recenved a signal back a few years back.. at the time it confirmed that life was out there.. but they found out that the static received was from satellites in orbit.. anyway i would love that in my garden.. them councilors wont know what to do.. especially if i put a few bullet holes and a smiliey face on lol

Just out of curiosity, if it were possible do apply a "domestic" LNB on it's focal point, would it be possible to receive every single satellite (avobe horizon) even if the footprint was very far away? I mean a dish that big must pick up enough signal on those very distant footprints right?

I doubt it.. if it aint there it aint there..

Think of throwing a plate across your living room, if you havent got the strength to do it it isnt going to make it :)

i dont know yeshi??

i dont think its just the strength of the signal being put out?

alot does rely on your dish/setup.... for instance there are some channels i cannot receive with my 1.1m dish, but if i upgraded to a 2.8 i would.

so i have to think that with a massive dish, i would probably receive some TV channels not meant for me. ie outside the footprint?

then again, i might be totally wrong :D

This aint right.. for the past 2-3 we have had snow and have lost 15-20% signal due to the snow heavily building up.

Come up with an ingenious idea.. obtained some very cheap salt put it in a tub and pured a little salt in.. and rubbed it all over the dish.. i have a picture on my phone.. the dish was litterely covered in snow due to it having the ridge.. (see page one)
