Found this hanging around in my photo archives, circa 1997.

Installed (if you can call it that) at my sister's place in France, was a 90cm Channel master budget steel dish, set on a universal wall/patio tripod mount, bolted to a large sheet of marine ply, as I wasn't allowed to bolt into the marble patio. :) Found the satellite using the receiver and a portable TV, oh for the old days. :)

This was of course for Sky analogue and Channel Five, was quite proud of myself at the time and my sister was over the moon, having previously existed on a diet of TV series on videos sent from home and French terrestrial TV. :)

In fact the dish is still in use at their place near Chartres, although looking a little sad now. :)

Here's the dish as it is at the moment, been up there for eight years now, same mount, simply turned around for wall mounting. :)

No, both for 28.2 East, I put them up before quad LNBs were widely available at a reasonable price.

Can't clip the cable, as the block are concrete and the mortar is too soft for the cable cleats.

Thats lime mortar for you too soft!

I prefer the censored version of your photo, the original has some blurry ghost like figures moving across the picture:p

Not entirely, I started doing aerials first, then it just sort of crept into satellite, mostly spurred by Sky's switchover to digital, as I worked for them for the first few months. :)

I may replace it this Christmas when I go over, as I need to run a couple more feeds for the Sky+ boxes. Have had to cut off lengths of cable on several occasions, as the Geese seem to like chewing it. :)

LOL, no they are too old now, you'd have to use a hacksaw to cut the meat after cooking. :)

But just had a thought, it wasn't actually my first installation, :-ohcrap, I'd forgotten that I'd slung up a BSB dish just before the Sky takeover, as I got the receiver and package very cheap. :)
