Hello all. I have been assigned to see if its possible to broadcast via a PC to satellite. We are looking into have our own channel in Hotbird. Is the option to run the channel via a PC feasible? If not what sort of equipments do we need to have the complete setup. Our servers if needed are located in Telehouse with plenty of bandwidth.

Your guidance will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum w2p

I think the first thing I should point out is that this is a hobbyist's forum for satellite TV reception. There may indeed be someone who possesses the required broadcast knowledge you seek however many members only log on once per week some less than that so patience will be required.

Well I would think that that most, if not all, of our members are more concerned with reception rather than transmission so you might be waiting for a long while for a reply.

I would have thought that it would be better to direct your enquiry to Eutelsat as they operate Hotbird at 13E. _http://www.eutelsat.org/home/index.html would be a good place to start.

And welcome to the forum.

Hi there w2p, welcome to the forum

Pm me and let me know just what you want to do.

I have about 8 years experience of uplink equipment purchase/sales, and a bit of knowledge on some troublesome companies that could tie you up in worthless contracts.
