thing is, it was fitted by pro's

i paid them £150 cos they knew what they was doing???

well it goes left and right on the search now.... but can i lock onto satellite... NO!!!
how the hell do you find em?
do you have to do one step at a time, or can you just move west till the signal rises then fine tune
ive tried finding HOTBIRD, EUROBIRD and ASTRA to no avail yet

Well, if you haven't moved the motor and had reception previously you should be ok. Have a look at the following thread,
http://www.satellites.co.uk/php-bin/forum/showthread.php?t=29530 , it deals with all the go to xx subject, including various tips. Generally your box should be able to find the sats on its own, but that is more often than not a bit problematic. Finding the sats and storing manually is probably the easiest solution.
Finding the sats should not be too hard, it is well worth setting a strong transponder (see idiot guide for a link to a list of those) and then slowly moving the dish. It should not be too hard finding strong ones like 19 east, 28 east or 13 east, especially if you got anopther satellite dish you can see. Then you can get some sort of idea where to look.

I think a phone call to the installer is required.

The bolts should be cut to length after installation - if they did the job properly (it's in the instructions)

I was going to get the cowboys that did mine back - then I remembered I did it myself - damb!

there is a good chance, i will end up ringing them.... but
it took them 2 days to set it up and they know what there doing!!!

to be honest, although its hard work doing all this, i am learning loads too,
all this will be good experience for the future.

at least by doing it all myself, i will know what to do when things go wrong in 12 months (or less lol)

but for now, i dont think ill be getting Man Utd vs Arsenal :(
maybe next time eh!
so it looks like i will be watching this one at the pub :)

Yeah, but just think how great it's gonna feel when you watch next week. You can truly sit back and enjoy your first pint in your own armchair.

You don't want to watch tommorow anyway. You'll only be upset ;) ...
(Although I sincerely hope you're jumping for joy!).

I can't believe what I am hearing!!!! The game is in the late afternoon, you got enough time to sort it out!!!
If you got problems of the box crashing while saving the sat position I would suggest putting on a new image or flasherasing the old one. For instance I am running the latest IHAVE A DREAMBOX 1.2 image. It does seem to work ok, and does not freeze too many times. (sometimes a reboot is called for).
If you managed to lock on to 19 east you should easily get 13 east.

Question: Have you got a list of channels that you loaded onto the dreambox with the LLama program? That makes finding the sat easier. What you do is:

1) Put the image on the Dreambox (or maybe flasherase your old one to start "fresh")
2) Set up your network
3) Use LLama to load up a list of Sats and channels (so you won't have to scan for them later
4)Set up your go to xx settings
5)Choose a station of a sat you know you can get (19 east for instance)
6) Go to the service searching, motor setup and the second page of the motor config where you can move the dish with the remote. move it until you get a lock onto the sat, and store the position.
7) Do the same for 13 east.

The reason why it is good to use an actual station is that it already preselects (usually)the transponder frequency in the motor setup. So you might even get a picture in the backround while you are searching. Remember to use small steps when moving the motor, and to wait a second or two. If you can , step outside to see which direction your dish is pointing when you start, so that you don't have to search in a totally wrong direction.

And finally: Don't let them Chelsea supporters on this board bother you O-Ha

Sorry T_G I have a lot to learn - what's LLama and where do I find it.

I have spent hours moving the dish 1 deg at a time and loading Sats.

Today i have erased everything including the HD just to get a clear run at things.

Do you recommend the 'I have a Dream image' then?

The ruDream images seem to have a problem connecting to the Internet update sites just now.

Hi
LLama = Dreamboxedit program, see Idiot Guide for directions
Regarding the image, I was referring more to the 5620, I am not too sure about the 7000. But maybe try the Hydra or Tiger. I tried all those available for my box until I found the one most suitable for me....

Well, if you get Multivision then you should get also TPS Star (which was showing the game).
Maybe you need to either reboot, or use the AU keyupdater, or choose the correct EMU for that. Other than that, well done, you are more or less there!!

My neighbours must have thought I'd lost my mind on Sunday.

They thought they heard me screaming 'COME ON MAN U'!!!

Normal service has now been resumed in the STICK household.

Nice to see Wenger bitching about the ref. for once though... ;)

It would be nice if you told us why this image is the best one.
Have you compared it with others?
What does it do that others don't?

PS Multivis use a music snatch from Live and Let Die in their Engl Prem promos.
Then there was Sky Sport also using it on Sunday.
Is it an official Premiership jingle or just coincidence.

And another thing,
did you notice how content and relaxed Houllier looks now that he only has to comment on Engl foot and not coach it? Nice to see him wearing a poppy.
And can we vote between Clare Tomlinson and the French equivalent. It's a close call. Very similar ladies.
