it is possible to recieve a signal from HOTBIRD (like multivision) in the PHILIPPINES?
do i have to use a big DISH?

No, the satellite would be well below the horizon as far as I know.

Go to www,lyngsat,com and look at the sat you interested in. To the right of each transponder there is a link to the individual footprint.
You will then have a better idea of what is possible with standard kit.
