What a bloody stupid idea. All we need is gaming addicts to go with
crackheads, alcoholics, etc. An extra billion a year going over to the US
cos. like MGM. And the odds in a casino are crap(s).

Video poker is unbelivably addictive, last year a woman in the US left her
baby in the car, in the sun and it died because she couldn't leave the
machine she was playing.

**** off Sol Kerzner etc. I'll stick with Betfair for the odd small punt on
Big Brother.

when they start taking away fruit machines from chip shops and takeaways, they might consider removing them from betting shops - I can't concentrate on which horse to lose my money on O-Ha

Did anybody see that program recently about the MIT students with a system to win at BlackJack?

The thing about it was, as far as I can tell, they were not actually cheating. They just knew how to play the game to win. And when they did start winning, the casinos threw them out and banned them.

Proof enough, I think, that you can't actually win in a casino - even if you are a good player.

There are already enough problems here with drugs and alcohol, now they want American style gambling.

Housekeeping starts going short, followed by broken homes, abused families and victims of spontaneus crime. Why?
Because habits cost money. A lot more than the average person can possibly earn through legal means.
This is not the couple of bob on the Derby or Grand National, that is, and always has been, the British family way.
This country is not prepared for gambling on such a large scale
My emotional feelings regarding the U.S.A are changing each passing day,
this latest idea could be the straw that breaks the camels back.
