Channel 4 is considering launching a new free-to-air digital television channel aimed at older viewers to capitalise on the success of Freeview, the TV platform backed by the BBC and BSkyB. C4, which already operates pay-TV channels E4 and FilmFour, is examining the possibility of launching a channel called G4.
