I'm asking the question here, I hope it's okay.
In a few days will go on sale the new Edision OS MIO 4K
will this new receiver also receive a version of Openvix?

Yes it will, image is being tested at the moment. Impressive receiver I have to say. Drivers looks good and well support. Supports both HDR and HLG too.

We've been testing the Mio 4K and it's a fast box. In all honesty hard to notice any speed difference between this and any other high spec new Generation 4K receiver.

Excellent sensitive S2X tuner for scanning.

Excellent quality Aluminium casing. Far better quality than many others on the market. Looks nice and good quality.

Excellent quality aluminium top remote. Can be programmed to power on TV and control TV volume.

Dual Core Broadcom ARM at 1.5 GHz processor, 8GB eMMC/RAM 2GB DDR4 2400Mhz flash memory. Just because its dual core its NOT slow in any way. Speed is comparable to boxes that cost £300-£400!

Stock due mid January, confirmed to us by Edision last week.

The presentation is excellent like on a shopping site, but the best way of presenting are the tests with low and high symbol rate, the weak signal response,16/32APSK feeds, all sorts of transponders in S2X,etc.After you do tests, then let's see if it's worth buying.
I think these tests are mandatory if we want this receiver to have relevance for us, because, isn't that right?,we are on a DX-ers forum.
Happy Christmas to All :)
regards

The AVL tuner outperforms the Silabs ones in stability and MIS receptions, for instance it plays Asturias Mux with no problem whereas all Silabs demods suffer from extreme stuttering. Snr dB indication is also razor sharp and accurate, compared to expensive pediometers (props for that)!
However, the tuner's sensitivity has to be tested more thoroughly as well as very low SRs where Silabs hits the ball park!
I'm sure Stephan will leave nothing to our imagination....

Hello
(thanks for stephan, and not steven :))
here is the result of a blindscan on 21.5 East
the Mio4K managed to find a feed in 16 APSK continous with a Modus and a code (gold 315)
It's unique; even TBS cards can not automatically find this.
For a Dxer like me, this receiver is the best I know, by far.

Accuracy on SNR is really not worth much

What I would like to see is SNR value also when signal is bellow lock! And spectrum analyzer..

Also, does blindscan only find locked transponders?

yes!!
But I've had twice the case that he found a frequency during the blindscan
and after that frequency did not show any signal with the "signal finder"
watching with PC programs, this frequency was present but it
was below the linc margin.
But it's only happened twice, it's exceptional and that does not mean much.

That's too much of an expectation from an Enigma2 receiver. I'm sure the tuner is capable of many things, but for a DXer nothing will ever replace a PC and any box could only be complementary for their work.
So at least compared to an average E2 box, this should stand out for now!

Hope it has a smaller steps than 0.25dB you get on Silabs. Is that CA slot functional?

The difference between a TBS Card (which can be used as a reference) and the Mio4K is less than 3%
that's really not a lot, and we can very well do a fine tuning of the antenna with the indications of the Edision.zdf 6983-vert.jpg

The Receiver finds transponders with a SR of only 1000 with the blindscan.

Blindscan might have limitations, have you tried low SR manually?

Whether in Blindscan or in manual, it does not read below SR 1000.

Is this an issue of the tuner or because of the drivers ?
I mean is this type of tuner (in other receivers) capable to lock much lower SR ?

I just made a reception comparison on Nilesat (7 ° East)
between the Mio4K and the TBS 6983 card ( very sensitive tuner)Mio4K vs 6983.jpg

Hi MCelliotG
No, it does not work with the new driver (C-Band or KU-Band)
I don't know if it's a pilot issue,
maybe the tuner can not go below 1000?
