Interesting review of Mio at EDISION OS mio 4K . Google translate does an excellent translation.
Lots of good points. A bit of concern on the receiver hanging during a blind scan though.

The information in that review is old. I have down a few hundred blindscans with the MIO, and have not had many problems with them. I have had the blindscan hang, but only when the low symbol rate of 1000 or 1 is selected.

Plus the review is inaccurate in some points, the author cannot understand the difference between T2-MI and PLS multistream to begin with...

Actually I am interested in buying this receiver but my 2 main concerns are the lack of Gbit LAN, USB 3 and internal HDD.
For me this is important because I am recording a lot and moving mainly 720p/1080i/p files, sometimes even 4K.

So I am wondering if anybody has tested at what speed one can move files by using
a) the LAN port
b) WLAN

For recording I thought about using a USB to SATA Adapter to connect a WD 4TB Red 3.5" HDD.
Can I be sure that this solution would work as well as an internal HDD ?
Or is a much more expensive NAS a must ?

I have extreme scenarios in mind like these:
Recording UHD from the DVB-S2X Tuner and 1080i from DVB-C/T2 at the same time.
Is there any bottleneck to fear ?

I am torn between this one and the Octagon SF8008. The Octagon does seem to have USB3 and also has a 4 core processor compared to a 2 core on the Edision. The aluminium on the casing of the Edision and remote control does give it a more classy look. I guess the level of support may be the deciding factor. Both seem to be very fast boxes from the videos of their menus.

Don't let the processor fool you, I have both of these boxes and the Mio boots much faster than the Octagon..As for build quality the Mio is a much more solid construction..

Nice to hear from someone with both receivers. How do their remotes function, are they responsive?

For me the Edition is the most responsive of the two, better build quality too..

From the beginning the Edision Mio4K (like the Nino Pro) found with the blindscan the T2MI PLP transponders on Astra 4.9 ° East.
That is, there is no need to manually enter the data into the receiver.

The Edison MIO4K is until now the only receiver (also card) of the Blindscan
the multistream with modus and PLS finds itself, and very fast.
It has the advantage that you do not have to manually hand in all this extra data (if you have it at your disposal), with all the mistakes that are possible.
Another advantage is that he can find completely unfamiliar feeds that are not normally found by any other receiver (for example, at 33 ° west with Modus gold and PLS 113344).

Hello to all
I am new owner of this receiver, and also everything about blindscan is new, and unknown for me
when You enter in Menu and satellite blind scan, choose one sat position, what about other inputs , leave as it is or change some values ?

It depends on what you want to find. If it's regular channels that are not scrambled then you choose the free to air option. If you are looking for feeds choose 01 or 02 sr range to 08 sr range which will exclude a lot of regular channels. If you know the frequency and polarisation of the signal you are looking for you can change the options to narrow down your search, which will help to save scanning time. Don't forget to choose the transponders you want scanned during the second stage or choose all, otherwise you will need to do the first stage again. Having Langsat or Freesat open in a Web browser at the same time will aid you identify what you see in the scan.

Are you experiencing clicks and pops in the audio when scanning? I am finding this feature annoying on a surround system!

Given the fact that for my three primo IP S2 receivers that I bought over the past months I cannot get any answers about how to properly enter an m3u file into the receiver and why the memories can only hold somewhere between 3500 and 4000 radio and TV stations instead of the 15000 that are announced in the receiver information I feel most discouraged about Edision. I don't know why such elementary questions just don't get a reply, not even from the company itself in Thessaloniki. That and the excessively limited user manual (one sheet) makes buying another Edision receiver something very risky it seems.

The Edision
Mio4K has no problem finding and viewing KA Band programs.
just indicate the right LOF and everything works perfectly.

Hello

the KA band on 16 ° East is particularly difficult for the receivers.
There are many transponders with a very small SR that are placed very close to each other.
the Mio 4K found at once all the visible frequencies with my antenna.
exactly the same transponders as the TBS 6983 card.
