Not huevos's build. Mine was for updatelee's DVB application.
If I remember (a while ago now when I updated), you use the command git clone, then the https address in post 137 above to clone into huevos's github patch, which then does the update.

The best solution for me (and the least risky)
is to wait for it to be updated in the next version of OPenvix.

Or, if you don't have git installed, copy/paste it off the web: after loading up the above github page showing the diffs, click on view, then raw and you'll have the full code with that latest commit ready to c&p into a file.

I just got that by doing as you said.
But after where should I copy all that?
In which file?
If you could show me with an image where I have to copy
thank youa1.jpg

I don't have access right now to an e2 box with blindscan, but I expect its /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/Blindscan/plugin.py

This is python (interpreted code, not compiled), so all we need do is copy the python code.

Make a backup of your image first if you prefer. Use eg WinSCP or Filezilla to locate the blindscan plugin.py as above. You can look inside to check that it has code which looks similar to the new one. OK?... then that's the file you need to edit with the new code (either copy/paste over the top of the existing, or rename the old file & create a new plugin.py & put the new code in that).

Edit: changed /Extensions/ to /SystemPlugins/

I tried updating the plugin.py in the directory campag said, rebooted the box and the box said there was a problem with the blindscan plugin. that was with the Satdream image

File permissions - does it need to be set executable? Windows line terminations (CR LF) instead of LF inside plugin.py?

OE-A version of the plugin is not compatible with the Satdream image. If they want my changes they will need to port them into their version.

I think OpenViX is going to release another build tomorrow (morning maybe) including the latest changes I added this morning.

Or just grab the latest version off github and send the file to /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/Blindscanplugin.py

Once the file is there, restart the box and then delete the file.

I'll think I'll upload the Vix image and try it now...

is there with Openvix to have as on the screenshot the list of frequencies found ?
and then the possibility to choose the frequencies to scan ?
I have not managed to have this possibility,
OPenvix does not show the frequencies
(in my configuration, I may have made a mistake?)

I found the solution, excuse me

@stephan94 Just load latest ViX and then latest version of the file from github.

File in the image is not the latest version.

I understand that bit, but can't find the file to download, do I need to register then sign in?

Code:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/oe-alliance/oe-alliance-plugins/master/Blindscan/src/plugin.py

Just copy and paste that and save as plugin.py.

Then FTP it to the receiver.

/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/Blindscan

Then restart the receiver. Once the receiver has restarted delete the file.

Got all

/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/Blindscan

Got all that, I need someting to open your original python file correct? ie the one that is in the current VIX build which sits on my desktop. so I can overwrite? the one I used earlier would not open it.
Sorry to be a pain

No, not open. You need to send the file to the receiver. Use an FTP client like filezilla.

Thank you very much for all these explanations,
but I prefer to extend a new version of OpenVIX.
I'm not sure enough about me :(

Yes looks like it.
In DCC I got to the plugin py location, right clicked and selected edit then pasted the text from your link earlier I take it this was incorrect. Can you pm the new py so I can simply overwrite it or it looks like I'll have wait for the new build. Thanks

Why are you not just sending the file to the box?

You just copy and paste that code into a text editor like notepad++. Then save it as plugin.py and send it to the box by FTP.

Success!! does that plugin.py need to be deleted out after the reboot, leaving the plgin pyo?
