Following on from my post above re the Blind Scan, I checked an Automatic Scan with the Nino Pro and it proceeded to find 161 channels. However, after exiting the screens to go back to a picture I got an error message. After powering down the receiver and turning it back on it finally gave a picture. Is this type of behaviour normal for an E2 receiver?

Pics of the automatic scan result and the error message attached below.NinoPro_20181207_40.5W_AutomaticScan_01.jpgNinoPro_20181207_40.5W_AutomaticScan_02.jpgNinoPro_20181207_40.5W_AutomaticScan_03.jpg

Did you do anything with the satellite XML file? Sounds like something has corrupted..

Use a proper text editor, e.g. Notepad+. Currently you have broken the encoding. And why are you not using UTF8?

After editing the xml file upload it to www.xmlvalidation.com to check the mark up is correct.

Is the validation web site online, I tried to access it to check an xml file but I keep getting an "Error 524 Timeout" message?

Back again.... :(

I created and downloaded a satellites.xml file from the web site of Huevos and validated it using the validation site, all OK. The new satellites xml file was FTP'd to the box using Filezilla to /etc/enigma2, Nino Pro rebooted and blind scan initiated on 40.5W C band. The blind scan found approximately 65 transponders and a channel scan of these transponders gave about 180 channels.

On pressing the green button to OK the completion of the channel scan the Nino Pro returned to the Open VIX screen with a please wait message and then returned an error message indication no data on the transponder. This is not correct, as other receivers give pictures for this transponder. The error message is not just restricted to this transponder, it applies to all transponders that were found on the blind scan. If I reboot the receiver I then get pictures !

Does this sound like a tuner fault or a firmware/software fault or is it normal for these E2 boxes?

Got to be that XML file. I would factory reset and try again, but leave the default XML in. Unless other E2 experts can help?

I think I understand where your problem comes from.
As soon as on a satellite there is a transponder in T2MI this problem can appear and causes an error which is only solved after a restart.
The 40 west has several frequencies in T2MI (4183L5000 - 4131L3750- 4126L3750-4112L3750 etc ....)
Try to make a blindscan only between 3600 and 3850 L and R and tell me if you still have this problem.
(I have the same problem on 40 ° East)
on the 4°9 East despite the T2MI this problem does not occur, but it is KU band ??

The xml file was from the web site of Huevos and I also validated it with the online validator?

You were correct, it was the T2M1 transponders causing the issue. If they are not scanned in the receiver goes straight to the channels with pictures. Thank you for your suggestion.

Hopefully the devellopeurs will solve this problem .
Huevos wrote that it was not certain at all, because it is very special.
We can only hope.

Hallo
A little surprise after doing this morning a Backup.
comparing with the previous backup
The inscription "SU" has disappeared.
It's obviously not important, but it's just a curiosity on my part:
Why before "SU" and now nothing?

IM (Image Manager), SU (Software Update), or nothing means it was manual. When you do a Software Update a back-up is automatically created before the update.

Nothing to do with C-band Vs Ku-band. Problem occurs when a transponder is multi-PLP.

The OS Nino Pro is my first E2 receiver, so it's all very new. I've been tryng various images. With all of them, I get jittering video on the multistream channels on 5W. I'm watching Rai Sport+HD on 11179V at the moment. It has periods of tens of seconds where the video jitters and then it settles down for a while and eventually does it again.

I can record it to a USB stick and it plays back fine without the jitter I saw while it was recording. I've run the TS file through a packet analyser and there are no packet sequence errors, so it doesn't appear to be missing any.

Does it look like deinterlacing jitter? What are you AV settings set to?

I don't think it's de-interlacing. I've tried setting the output to 1080i and 1080p. It also happens with the audio and with SD channels.

It's as though some frames are being dropped and the last frame is shown for more that one frame time. There's no pixelation.
