Just curious, will that motor be strong enough to move my CM 1.2m dish? It would be a bonus as I wouldn't need a polar mount or an actuator.

Last summer I've opened belly of such a motor (to open was much easier than to close), but did not install it yet. Hoverer, I feel it can hold CM120 without any problems.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Looks very similar to something I have in a box in the back room, (turret and top nut clamping are virtually identical. The motor is on a solid alloy post clamp with locking bolts though, none of this 'U-bolt' and steel plate stuff.

Will try and get a few pictures later.

I received a reply from the seller and he said the CM 1.2m dish can be moved with ease with this motor as he uses it to move heavier steel dishes. I pulled the trigger and ordered one-no need for a polar mount or actuator is considered a huge bonus for and much better on my wallet.

Does it automatically include the Channel master adapter plate or do you have to request it?

You need to request it and it costs an additional 5 pounds.

I just finished installing my refurbished 1.2m fortec with an actuator. I will be installing the motor and mount next week to start testing before an actual install takes place.

Sounds good. I may even buy a second motor if your results are good, so I can slap the Fibo 120 on it. My lack of presence at my parents' place along with lack of use means that the Channel Master PM and the actuator are looking a bit sorry for themselves....

I have decided to install the CM 1.2m dish properly. I have a pole in my garage from an older install where it wasn't plumb. There is a 3" attachment at the top of the pole where the HH motor will be mounted. I just applied the first coat of rust paint and will have to dig a hole of at least 3' for the frost line:

@Costactc After you cement the pole into the ground and hang relatively heavy dish on top of it, could happen that pole will lose its verticality which is not good for polar-mounted system. Did you think about that?

The pole is 3 1/2" and is heavier then the poles I am using for my 3m and 2.4m dishes which are much heavier the the 1.2m CM. This pole would accomodate my main c band dish easily.

Just in case I will show you my adjustable pole made of INOX. There are actually 2 pipes to make pole stronger (one pipe welded inside another one).
