Hi denis,

I'm from north of italy, I'm using 2 dish one gibertini alu 125 cm and one 130 cm, I comared with MTI high line 0.2db, diavolo 0.1db, chess edition 2, best 0.1db and some others, with inverto the signal is at least 3% better than others...

Hi Huevos,

I'm interested in how to convert Inverto LNB to prime focus. Can you share this with us or is it a commercial secret?

Cheers Ian.

They are an off the shelf item here, from DSS in Finestrat.

Thanks Huevos,

It's a bit far for me to travel from Hampshire, but I guess as it's off the shelf it must be a commercial secret.

Cheers Ian

Inverto Black Ultra - Which of these are best single, twin or quad?

Has anyone done any tests?

These magical numbers always make me laugh :D

0.2db....

go to digikey.com (for example), check price tag for transistors which have maximum noise level of 0.2db at the working frequencies of KU band...

Check their prices...

Now compare them to LNB prices and think by yourself, why while offering the "same" S/N, complete LNB costs 10 times less than it's single component? :D

0.2db....
BombedOne you have obviously misread the thread. No one is talking about component noise. In my post (#26) I was talking about C/N. That figure is nothing to do with some crap figures on a spec sheet. It is a real figure taken from the analyser during a direct comparison.

Also that 0.2dB is the improvement, not the overall noise figure. Some of my tests showed a lot more improvement than that. For example in one test the Black Ultra picked up more than 1dB C/N compared to a CM feedhorn and Invacom quad coupled to a Gibertini 1.5m dish. In terms of C/N, 0.2dB is a good improvement and can be the difference between unwatchable and and a good quality picture when operating close to the Shannon threshold. And 1dB gain C/N is enormous.

Yes 1dB is pretty much improvement in fringe areas, so the Black Ultra is performing better on your CM 1.2m than the combined InvacomQ/CM-feedhorn?

I might try your suggestion then instead as there is one drawback with the CM feedhorn as well as you can't adjust focal length, it's fixed, with the Inverto Black Ultra i could tweak it as well probably gaining some signal.

It's not the NF figure you should look at as all modern LNBs are under 1dB, what you should look at and that is the most important attribute of the LNB today is the phase noise, the better the phase noise the better the signal.

Probably the Black Ultra has some excellent phase noise compared to the other LNBs today.

Just changed my single Ultra, for a twin one, works just as good, significant improvements over the Silvertech I have.

Please could someone tell me which is better the Inverto Black Premium 0.2 or the Inverto Black Ultra, the pro is dearer yet everyone talks about the Ultra. Sorry on one site it is dearer, found pro cheaper on another site, but still interested if anyone has compared the two

Well, with two at least of the site sponsors selling the ultra, why take a chance? Though on the spec the phase noise and the conversion gain are pretty similar for the two. The Ultra has the added advantage though, of the long neck, giving a better scope for optimising the focus. Ive not tried the pro, but more than happy with the improvement that the ultra has given me.

Get the Black Ultra. Inverto sell it as a fringe reception LNB and it is the one that has caused the momentum.
