Found at a German board , member Delfi got his hand on a Inverto Ka /Ku combi lnb
Switchable between 10,7-12,75 GHz, and 21,2-22,2 GHz.
This lnb already listed in a Inverto cataloque from 2013 with no specs .
Delfi tested it against a XMW PLL at 16º E , found the same TP's with 1 dB more power .
Unfortunaly , its not on the marked yet .P1260499BB.JPG P1260503CC.JPG

Very interesting indeed...
On my shopping list if it ever becomes available ..
curious though ..
??
Polarity wise ...
obviously it can switch between the 2 bands ...
How is this done since 22khz is needed for band switching in Ku ..
Which leaves V/H available ...but if this is used for polarity switching in Ku ..then how is the switch from Ku to Ka accomplished ?
Or is it simgle polrity only ?
H or V depending on physical orientation ..
ie H Ka and H Ku ...22khz upper Ku
or rotated through 90 degrees
V Ka and V Ku 22khz upper Ku
more info please...

I guess the Ka/Ku output will output Ku by default, and can be switched to Ka by a DiSEqC 1.0 command just like ordinary monoblocks?
And all existing sats with 21.4...22.0 GHz use linear, thus Ka and Ku will be linear.

Edit: corrected!

And all existing sats with 21.4...22.0 GHz use circular, thus Ka will be circular, Ku linear.
That has me confused buddy ...
Ka D uses linear not circular ??
..and of course ..a diseqc 1.0 command might be confusing for switched setups with motor control ..
This wouldn't be an issue of course on a static dish..
Just curious how it works for real tho'

Sorry I was confused, indeed Ka D is always linear!

You may well be right Martin ...but damned if I can navigate to a pdf for this lnb ..
Just keep finding the same link you posted ..
If it's on invertos website ..it's well hidden.

Still doesnt say much about the IDLK-SINL20-KAKUO-OPP
The info is refering to the Twin Ka circular used at 9E
So ...we are no wiser..

The picture of the KaKu in that 2013 cataloque is unpunctually , thats a sign .
The single one in the middle is also not available since the project for Egypt did not start .

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Could it be one of those 'smart' Ku downlink/Ka uplink LNBs ?

Cant see it being a Ka uplink lnb like an Hughes ODU ...
But I guess it could monitor certain uplink frequencies ...like those it already found on 16E.
But why would anyone make one Ka D capable unless ..this was indeed the future of spectrum use in satellite..

CH did you not read : Delfi tested it against a XMW PLL at 16º E , found the same TP's with 1 dB more power .
That was on Ka band .
He posted some more today , translated for you :

with DiSEqC 1.0 A is Ku, with B Ka.

At the Ka only port extremly good signal , found this morning 11 TP's , one more as with the PLL lnb .
Nine of them between > 10 and 15 dB . With the PLL lnb only about 5 / 6 TP's > 10dB

At the other port , switchable Ka / Ku , some losses at KA ( about 0.7 dB ) but still equal to the PLL lnb .

The KU part seems to be a little less than the BU ( 0.5 / 1.0 dB ) but maybe the cloudy wetter has something to do with that .

Tested at TBS 5925 card
Also wrote : there have been already 6500 pcs made .

So ..any idea when they will be available to mere mortals such as myself ??
..and roughly the cost ?
Delfi is obviously 'in the loop' at inverto ..
perhaps he could find out ?
