Hello everyone I have just discovered this site and I am looking forward to gettting set-up.
I have seen Garym71 self install and I am gonna have a go at that,I too live in Oxfordshire so I hope the set up will be similar.
I am looking to get a dreambox 500s soon. I am reasonably confident with
computers so networking and ftping to the box should be ok.Its the satellite hardware that I know nothing about.I hope I can count on you guys here if I get into difficulties which I surely will.

Obviously not enough people with multi satellite systems, programs like Eastenders persuaded me to take this hobby up, in a quest to find something more intellectual, like Multivision 1 .

I'm a new member, and first I just want to say hello to all.
I would very much appreciate any help with how to programme cards? I know nothing in this area so if anyone could help me from the very basic level upwards, I'd be most grateful.
I've tried various searches on this site but the threads/posts that result are vast and they appear to be not particulary relevant. I've used searches like: viaccess, programming, humax.
I'm probably not navigating this site correctly!? I'm also posting this Hello here as I can't find the 'New Thread' link.
Here's my receiver details: I've a Humax VA-FOX with a viaccess embedded slot, it's about 2 and a half years old; and my dish is directed onto Hotbird 13E and Astra 19.2E.

Welcome to the forum questioner, the new thread button is on the top left of every section, I won't go into your question here, but you need to state what cards you have and what you are expecting to receive with them, there isn't much available with programmed cards.

Hi Rolfw and v9oly, thanks for saying hello,
Rolfw, I don't possess any cards; over time I've just perodically used the Humax with the FTA stuff. I did read somewhere that people are allowed to produce their own pirate cards as long as they're not used for commercial purposes. And with a pirate card I am interested in knowing how to access the channels on Hotbird 13E and Astra 19.2E. Maybe this can't be done with my present receiver? What do you think Rolwf.
