I would say as much as they think it needs to and still be competitive.

Trouble with all of these type of press releases, they tell you very little.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

3/4 billion analogue TVs worldwide ?

Does not mention that

1) quite a few of these would already have digital STBs connected (DVB- T started quite a few years ago in other parts of the world)
2) Some of these are secodary sets and would be unlikely to be upgraded to digital once analogue is turned off

Sure the TV industry is still making and selling analogue sets, I dont think Ive seen a true digital TV set as yet, everyone passing through here has a standard tuner built in (not much point in removing it while transmissions are still available - in a similar way to a plethora of digital /analogue receivers being sold).

When someone is brave enought to make a purely digital TV, the prices should start coming down, provided people buy it.
