Right, i currently have a Big Sat 8000 Deluxe but the software availablity is appalling.

So i was hoping to buy a new reciever with improved support so i can keep up-to-date.

Now i dont want to go down the cam/card route, so which receiver do i buy?

Obvioulsy has to be within reasonable money too.

All suggestions welcome, cheers!

You could consder one of the Fortecstar range, e.g. the 5100 Ultra.
Frequent updates available to patch the receiver, no need for programmers, cams etc.

i'm starting to think a dreambox is the way to go, the 5620 rather than the 7000 though.

Humax 5400 could be an alternative. There is obviously emulators for it so you don't have to buy cams or cards.

It also has a good sensitive tuner if you would like to tune in some weak satellites. The 5400 is a bit expensive though, quality stuff isn't for free.
