A new version of the Videocrypt hack "HVC" has been released to the public domain (freeware).

System requirements (extract from the v1.00 readme file):

- CPU with MMX-support.
- TV card with Video-for-Windows drivers. WDM drivers wont work.
Cards with BT848, BT849, BT878 or BT879 for optimum image quality recommended.
- Main memory. Starting with 32Mb, depends on the operating system. For DelayLoop output, additional 12-50Mb, depending on the resolution, required.
- Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000.
- Full-Duplex sound card for DelayLoop output.
- Videocrypt-encrypted TV program (note: from direct feed or via tape recording).
- PAL TV system for color and optimum decoding quality

I have not tried HVC myself (a PC TV card is needed and I don't have one) but am interested to hear the experiences of anyone who has.
