From a Swedish Microwave mail, looks nicer than the Sky-Q one. I'm sure it will be cheap:rolleyes:

It looks like we will see more LNBs to this spec. It make things much easier, assuming the you have a wide band back end.

New Wideband LNB for ASTRA Spec

The new SMW Professional 10.41 GHz LO Wideband LNB was
developed to provide cost- and power optimized reception of the
Extended 10.70 – 12.75 GHz Ku-Band.

It meets the ASTRA Universal Wideband LNB 290 - 2340 MHz IF
specifications, requiring only one output and cable per polarization.
Exceptional SMW performance that meets the DVB-S2 broadcast profile
(optional Ultra-Low Phase Noise version meets all DVB-S2X profiles).
Also available in a TWIN version for H&V reception which comes complete
with OMT and Weather protection cover.

Or for cheapskates, chop the end off a "Q" and fit a C-120 flange.

Yes, it has been used for Sky Q in UK for a while. I'm sure more will be available soon. There is a full line of distribution kit on page 22 on in this catalogue: https://unitrongroup.com/upl/document/New Johansson Products 2017 - ENG.pdf or other languages Download catalogues - Unitron Group
Some LNBs look like they are DRO (Zinwell?) so not quite as useful.

The WB LNBs are good when used with an analyser as the whole band can be viewed at the same time. There are problems with spurious responses but the TBS6983/6903 work with these LNBs. However, to avoid the problems a low pass filter is needed below around 900MHz see : Just Sharing This - Using TBS6983/6903 Below 900MHz (STV6120)

I have questions:
When will generic STBs be available covering the wide band IF?
Does the Sky Q box suffer from the same problems as the TBS card on lower channels (maybe it does but no one notices)? What chip set does it use?
Has anyone got a copy of the Astra Wideband LNB Spec?

It's not new, extended wideband has been a product line for at least two years, Johansson/Unitron were promoting their range of LNBs in mid 2015 at IBC for the SES specification.

UnitronGroup Introduces Wideband Satellite Product Family - Unitron Group

This may have been a spin off from work over a decade ago when it was proposed to sell some of the very low Ku spectrum, research was carried out not far from here on the most appropriate LO frequency.
