What we really need is a good (non Linux) receiver for enthusiasts that works. Would be popular round the world with 4.2.2 , multistream etc etc.. I think people would even be prepared to pay a bit more for something like this?
Just an idea !

Agreed the main trouble is the lack of dedication to producing a decent receiver that can do all that is possible with today's technology this is not rocket science just the lack of the will to build a decent receiver but while we have some of the uninitiated voices saying we are in a minority & these features 4:2:2 -Multi stream - mpeg-4 +4K it will not appeal to the majority,
It is a bit like some astronomer's believed in the 1700's when they thought everything circled around the Earth a very short sighted view :-rofl2

If they created the perfect receiver there wouldn't be any need to buy their future junk so they wouldn't have a long term gain.

It just means we hold on to our 10 year old receivers as long as possible!

This might be interesting. I have one of these American edition Minime boxes, so if TM don't deliver the goods maybe Azbox Americas can.....Below is copied from there forum...

We are currently working on implementing most of the features you mentioned including 4K support in our upcoming AzBox model.

As well, development is currently underway for an external tuner that will add support for 16 and 32 psk on the AzBox miniMe American Edition now that the firmware we have recently released resolved the large majority of stability issues in previous firmware versions.

Unfortunately, it won't be possible to support 4K on our current miniMe American Edition model as the graphics chipset does not support it. However, any feature that you mentionned which can be technically implemented will be added in due time.

Stay tuned,

Yep, got my old TM6900 back out.
I'm still happily using two of them! It's just a shame they are not the TM6902 as that would mean they could keep picking up terrestrial channels when they switch to DVB-T2.

Unless I´m wrong, didn´t Scopus state " Unfortunately, it won't be possible to support 4K " with the current chipset ?

They are developing another box to use with 4K. The add on device is for the current Mineme american edition and will do 16 and 32psk. They said on the forum that the 4K box won't be available until next year, the add on device for the Minime, later this year.

I am looking to purchase one soon 42" £299 to £399 but until a decent 4K box comes out best to wait & see.

Until a decent new box that does what we want comes on to the market I will stick with the sat boxes I have and the PC cards for 4.2.2. feeds.

Yes that looks like the route to go.
