Hiya, I am new to all this Satellite TV and new to this forum...

I have just bought a Technomate TM-1000 D Digital Satellite Receiver, a Fortec Star FS-2100 DiSEqC 1.2 H-H Motor and I am now waiting to receive an 80 cm Orbital Satellite Dish & Alloy Wall Mount..
I am supposed to be moving house in the next few month so I am not bothering with putting the motor up yet..
I am wanting to know if I'll be able to receive the following;
RTL
RTL II
Super RTL
ARD
ZDF
SAT1
Pro7
Vox

I live in Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland in the North East of England...

as much info as possible will be great
Cheers,
Marc Aaron

Easily :)

You could get them with a damp piece of string from the UK.
You have no worries there. :)

Have a look here - http://www.lyngsat.com/hotbird.html
to see what you can get 'free to air' from the 13east position
with your 80cm dish (when it arrives):D

With a motor (depending on your immediate terrain) you should get most satellites in the arc 42'e to 30'w.

Patched means you will be able to decode a lot of the encrypted channels without the need for a conditional access module (CAM) or the need for a card ;)

not too sure what you mean by ''(depending on your immediate terrain)'' & ''without the need for a conditional access module (CAM) or the need for a card'' ??

"Depending on the immediate terain" means if there are no trees or buildings blocking line of sight to the satellites.

The second part really is as Lancelot says, a patched receiver can decrypt channels without putting a card in, can't really see how I can add to that.

Have look in the CAMs and decoders and Cards and programmers sections and it will all become clear.

PS. For the German channels you need to be lined up on 19.2 East, if you are going to put the dish up, why not use the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the operation and setting up of the motor. You may avoid some of the pitfalls when you finally relocate.
