Just noticed Badr transmits on 12303 H 27500 3/4, could this be part of the problem?

Edit, also has 12130 V for Dubai channels, coincidence ?

Just checked the above on the motorised system
12130 V at 13.6 dB
12303 H at 14.2 dB

Think this may be part of the problem for me!

I doubt it on a correctly aligned 1.8m dish. Maybe on the 1.2m

12129 V Drama etc is also low here, only 8.7 db, according to Flysat also on 2E
No drop in 12129 V here, got similar levels & level patterns as other 2E uk transponders.

12129 & 12304 are 2\3, might have something to do with the level differences seen from different locations ?

FEC doesn't have any connection with SNR. Changing the FEC changes the Shannon threshold, not the SNR.

Any idea why these two are so much lower in our area?
Brian have a look on the Emitor analyser. 12129V and 12304H are gaps on the spectrum. No noise showing from 26E, just no power. Signal rises and falls in sync with known 2E (10818V, for example), rather than known 2G (10964H). Still easily receivable on a 1.8m dish.

I look tomorrow with the Emitor, it´s on charge at the moment.
It is strange that others in fringe areas see little difference in power, while other areas, like ours, there is a big value drop

Edit, just checked the footprint for 12303 H from Badr 5 and that goes nowhere near Norway or Finland, so must be something else

If of any interest to the inquisitive, the good 12304 levels here is not a random occurence, both 12304 (& 12129) currently somewhat stronger than the 2e bbc's.

1,8 Channel Master, Black Pro LNB with CM feedhorn for 28 E which is my main interest when watching TV. VU+ DUO 4K SE, VU+ DUO 2, Octagon SF8008 and Vantage 8000 S and TS receivers. Fixed dishes at: 42 E (0,75 m), 28,2/28,5 E (1,8 m), 19,2 E (1,5 m), 13 E (1,1 m), 9 E (0,7 m), 5 E (1,2 m) and 1 W (0,7 m).

Just for comparsion here it looks like this on my Vantage 8000 right now:

10 758 V: S 87, Q 89
10 773 H: S 87, Q 88 (usually 88-89)
10 847 V: S 86, Q 89
10 906 V: S 86, Q 89
12 129 V: S 86, Q 85
12 304 H : S 85, Q 76

Notice the big differece between 12 129 and 12 304 which still makes me suspect some problem with my LNB.
Will try with another LNB and see if there is the same difference.

Second null. As you increase the frequency the nulls move closer to the centre of the beam. We are close to the north edge of the second null so we notice a difference based on frequency.

If we were located somewhere different the null might move further away as frequency increase rather than closer.

12304H is quite a bit weaker than 12129V. Look at my screen grabs above.

Slightly off topic, but can you see 12129 when you´re not wobbling?

Here, just south of Gothenburg, Sweden, 12304 is almost like 12129. It's slightly weaker, but it's due to my LNB, all H polarization transponders are weaker. But since it's using FEC 2/3, very good margins compared to many other UK beam transponders...
