I have been trying to find out some info as I have an old Hyundai HSS 800ci receiver, with a 1m dish, motorised. I've also got the old Aston 1.05 CAM.

My question is, which CAM do I buy now?? Seems so much more confusing nowadays !!

Maybe I'm getting too old for this !!

I can't decide between the Matrix or the Dragon (and there's also the x-cam!!)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi hi2shy (sounds chinese:))

Unfortunately the channels we used to get are slipping away as they move on to different (and safe) encryption. The dragon will still get TPS and there's a good bit of stuff to watch on there. When you said matrix, was that reloaded or revolution? I think it would be the dragon for me.

I guess this is similar to when s*ca went to s*ca2 !! Maybe there is no point going back down this road again!! But if I do, I will get the Dragon CAM !!

I would be more inclined to dump the HSS800 and get yourself one of the new flashable receivers, most of them for not much more money than a CAM, the Hyundai is now well out of date, very slow, prone to memory loss (I know how it feels) :) and very limited on channel storage.

Technomate or Fortec Star are a good starting point for these type of reciever and both are fairly well supported software wise on the net ;)

Loads of them, Lancelot has mentioned two of the popular ones, but if you have a look in the receiver software section, there is a sticky with software links, and the ones which have independent links are normally flashable. :)
