newbie needs help with keys

I have bought a dream box (500s) i have flashed it withthe gemini software , but i cant get the any encrypted channels , i had a pci based sat card and had a few probs all of which have now gone , im having trouble getting the keys into the machine , i have read the idiots guide and used the blue button but still i cannot do it
i have just downloaded a ftp server program , and got the new keys but i really need help desperatly , i need some severe tutorials
does the dreambox work like prog dvb as in the keys get droped into a particular file in the root ?

^^ Contains a comparison of some emus and lists where keys for each of them should be placed... I've not tried Microsoft's FTP client with the dreambox yet, only FreeBSD and Linux FTP - but basically, after installing an emu you can upload keys to the respective key directory etc

I received errors earlier today trying to install config files and keys via the blue-button menu on Gemini today - but I thought that was because I had been buggering around, what error do you get?

yeah its tps, multivision etc the usual stuff , the hotbird / 19.2 stuff

got them working by the blue button , but only for
for tps and multivision , need to sort out taquilla anf canel + is their just 1 key or program (just like s2emu on the pci card)

Are you using camd3 or newcamd? Have you read the Idiot's Guide?
The keys have to go in var/keys or var/scce depending on the emu you are using.

Keys downloaded by the blue button are normally out of date. And install the aes key plugin script if you haven't already.

Hi,

Get the newest keys from the IHAD database for whichever cam you are using. I am only a newb but I found newcamd to be the easiest to get up and running.

If using newcamd, all you need to do is ftp the new keys to the /var/tuxbox/scce directory/folder on the dreambox. once you have done that you will probably need to change the attributes on all the files you uploaded to 755. Use FlashFXP (its free for 30 days) for ftp'ing it's as good as any.

Reboot dreambox and you are done.
