Anyone want to speculate when they think the next DreamBox model will appear?

What do you think will have changed?

I see on the DreamBox website some users think it will be soon and with a new tuner.

When I buy something expensive, like a Dreambox, I spend the next 6 months trying not to read magazines, look in shop windows, or read anything entitled 'NEW VERSION' or 'MASSIVE PRICE DROP!!!!' so don't ask me. I don't want to know, and I'm not coming out from under my duvet for anyone... and yes, my Dreambox is under here with me...

Know the feeling! Happened with both digital and video cameras bought in the last year.

Way I look at it is that I got what I was happy with at the time and they are still great products. Now both cheaper and higher resolution!

Hate to buy a new DB only to find the next generation released next week!!!

I copied this from another forum

No it's not even close to be released!
Lots of small improvements, call it "face lifts"
Bootloader in a separate EEPROM like a BIOS on a PC
Power switch on back plate
bigger Flash (16M:cool:
different tuner (Philips)
RF out added
some other minor things

Hm, they sound quite significant improvements, but of course may have a whole new set of problems as well. :)

The 'bigger flash' bit means that the image file for the new 7020 will be different to the 7000 - which is bad news!

I like the RF out bit - I am about to put an RF mod onto mine to watch upstairs without having to send the scart through the VCR first and watch on the VCR channel
