My girfriends dads new ftv card number does not show up in the system details list. Will this happen when we get the card authorised.

No, you probably need to do a software update, has the box been unplugged for a period of time?

If it has, then switch the box off at the mains, then switch it back on at the mains, but whilst holding in the backup button on the box, keep it held in until the lights flash.

Once updated, it should see the card.
