My Satellite Setup
105cm Zehnden Dish with 2 x std. quad lmb's Sat 1 on Astra 2 (28.2E) and Sat 2 on Astra 2 (19.2E) running through a multiswitch feeding 4 TV's
My Location
Germany
I live in Germany and receive Astra 2 (28.2E) and Astra 1 (19.2E) using 2 x normal quad lmb's through a multiswitch, with no problem. I have bought a Skydigibox and Free View card but is says "no satelite signal". If I mount a single lmb (28.2E) and connect direct to the digibox, all works OK.
Why does the digibox not see the signal with the quad lmb?? any ideas?

The Digibox has no DiseqC, you will need to change the inputs, so that Astra 2 is on DiseqC A.

Thanks for the reply, the multiswitch has DiseqC 2.0 and I have Astra 2 as satelite one input on the multiswitch. Is this what you mean? If so it is with this setup that it says No Satelite Signal.

OK, if you connect your non Sky receiver to the output and change it to output 1, remove it, then connect the digibox, does it then work?

PS. can you get the default transponder 11788 V on the non Sky box, as it only takes the Vertical High to be on the wrong input and it will show no signal.

Done that, still no joy. More info hopefully to help you help me.
1. 11788 V excellent reception on non sky box.
2. I moved the dish so that Astra 2 is the centre (main) lmb. and Astra 1 offset lmb. used single lmb to get disk position, sky box works fine with single lmb.
3. Replaced the single lmb with quad lmb (thru' multiswitch), non sky perfect, skybox no signal zero strength and zero quality.
4. Non sky box has function to select lmb type (quad, single, etc.), skybox doesn't.
5. Skybox details: Pace; Mod=1.0.43; ver. 9F0A03; Op Sys 1.2S4FB, EPG S/W= 3.3b.5
6. FEC setting 2/3
I hope this helps, 'cause I can't understand it.
Thanks again

Sorry, given you the wrong frequency for the default transponder, it is 11,778 V, not 11,788.

Can you test again with the other receiver.

Just as a side issue, you say you are using quad LNBs (it is LNB, not LM:cool:, do they have four identical outputs, or Horizontal Low, Horizontal High, Vertical Low and Vertical High, I know that the Germans call waht we call a Quattro a quad.

Can you provide a picture/spec of the multiswitch?

The transponder is 11778, not 11788, (I can't read sometimes), so that is OK.
The LNB (LMB was typo) has Horiz high, Horiz low, Vert high and Vert low, NOT four identical outputs.
How do I attach a picture of the Multiswitch? The attach image button above asks for the URL. I am running a wireless network with four computers attached, I know the IP address of my computer and my router but the picture is on a memory card in the card reader, please excuse my ignorance but I have never been asked this question before.

To attach a picture, click on advanced, then attachment manager, then add the attachment, browse buttons will appear in the window so that you can find the picture. :)

When you scan with the other receiver on DiseqC A the frequency below, can you receive the channels listed?

OK, was just verifying that it was receiving that band and polarity. Can't really explain why the digibox would not be receiving anything, it should actually pick up a signal whichever satellite you are looking at, as Astra 19.2 has a matching transponder and should at least show a signal strength.

What I don't understand is that it reads a single lnb, but not the quad (quattro) there seems to be no setting to change from single to quad, does it matter which lnb type is used?

The multiswitch should appear as a standard universal LNB to the digibox, what are the settings in the LNB section of the digibox setup menu?

They should be
9.75
10.60
ON
ON

I have found the hidden menu and the LNB setting is as you show above.
I have tried the New Installation and it shows me "No default transponder found"
I will now chack all the connections to once again ensure that all is functioning well.

OK, you need to press 0,1,select in quick succession when in the system setup section.

But on second thoughts, if it works directly connected to an LNB, then those settings must be correct.

OK I have sorted it out. The LNB settings are now:
9.75
10.60
ON
OFF
Obviously the "off" being the difference

Thanks again for all you time and effort, without which I would not have progressed to get the thing sorted out
Cheers for now

Sorry Kevin, been away from the PC. It concerns me that the 22Khz switch needs to be off, that would normally indicate that the vertical low and high band cables are juxtaposed. Can you now get ITV2?

Yes, ITV2 no problem, the only thing that doesn't seem to be right is that Channel 4 and Channel 5 do not work, it says Channel not working due to a technical problem, try again later. Other than that it seems that I can get the other channels.
I will check for your comments again tomorrow, then we can see what has to be done.
Cheers for now
Kevin
