Hi everybody! I tried to setup a stab hh90 motor to our dish with my dad and it seemed to have worked..well, the motor was able to move by using the receiver (a Technomate 1000D super) but I cannot find any signal. I'm trying to find the true south by moving the dish to thor 1.0* by using a compass but it didn't seem to work :-(

I live in south London and according to _http://www.hansa-electronic.com/satcalceng.asp

my lattitude is: 51.50
my longitude is: 0.08
azimuth angle: 181.37989755941638
elevation angle: 31.059813196037375

here are some pics of the setup I took:

The one I'm having trouble with is the upper one (the other one has Astra 19.2E for my mum).. I dunno whether thats too high to find Thor 1W or I've made a mistake with the elevation/latitude.

I tried to use a compass and move the dish to the south but I dunno whether this is right.. can someone please help me?

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with that setup and wwhat do I have to do to make it work?

Thank You so much!

The angle of the dish - it should be almost vertical (see bronking picture) check the dish and motor angles for your location.

You could try pointing in the same direction as your S*y dish and changing the elevation until you get a signal.

At least then you know the dish angle is OK.

Do you have a satellite meter?

It makes the job so much easier.
